This book is a catalog of the gift of 1,145 pieces of Meissen and other German ceramics given to the Smithsonian upon the death of the collector, the Reverend Alfred Duane Pell in 1924. Numerous color and black and white photos. No stated publishing history so presumed first edition, first printing thus. This is a used book. Pages are clean and bright with no markings, notes, or highlighting. Covers show shelf wear and several stress creases. Faint soiling to the white background field of the rear panel. No owner's marks or bookplates, not ex-library. Binding is tight and square. Corners are bumped. An excellent reading copy.
