No store stamps. --- --- Maggie Eustace, whose early life of poverty stopped with her adoption by Aunt Kinny, a sumptuous-and massive- figure who maintained a large household of dependents and retainers. Among them was Luke, her adopted son, who at an early age exerted his fascination for Maggie and the slightly younger Selena whose charms were more demure, more serious, more serene. But although it is Maggie whom Luke loved, it was Selena whom he planned to marry- for her money, until Selena dies and Maggie bears Luke's accusation of her guilt in Selena's death. And Maggie goes on to marry Christopher, only to find that her devotion to him can never equal love, and it takes further heartbreak for all before she is finally free- for Luke. The confessional which graduates from a schoolgirl expansiveness to a full tremulo, this is energetically emotional- for the ladies at leisure. . .See photos for additional content. . .
